Welcome to RxRegistry

How the service works for pharmacists:
When you receive a RxRegistry script, scan the QR code on it with any QR code scanner app on your cellphone.
If the script is legitimate you will get a picture of the original script as written by the prescriber.
Since only prescribers have the ability to register scripts, you know it hasn't been created by a faked.
Comparing this to the paper script will tell you if the script has been altered in transit.
RxRegistry will also tell you if the script has been marked as canceled by a prescriber or filled by another pharmacist.
After confirming the script hasn't been altered, tell RxRegistry the script has been filled by clicking the link.

How the service works for prescribers:
Prescribers write a prescription in the normal fashion but on special prescription pads with a QR code on them.
After writting the script, scan the QR code to register the prescription upload a picture of it to our encrypted site.
Ask the patient to sign the Prescription Agreement confirming they understand the script is to be registered online and must not be altered; this is a great time to discuss the collaborative nature of medical treatment.
The script is then given to the patient as usual to take to a pharmacist.
Keep your copy of the QR code on the Prescription Agreement so that you can view or cancel the prescription later by scanning it with any QR scanner app on your cellphone.
Of coarse, in order to prevent everyone from faking their own prescriptions, you must be registered as a prescriber to create these special scripts. To register, click here.

How the service works for patients:
Patients receive a prescription from their prescriber as usual and take it to the pharmacist of their choice.
The pharmacist confirms the prescription is correct and fills it as usual.
The electronic copy of the precription saved is encrypted in such a way that only the person with the prescription paper, or the prescriber, can view it.
This preserves your privacy more then other systems which allow anyone with logon access (often doctors, system administrators, or even government bureaucrats) to access your prescriptions.
It also allows the prescriptions to be canceled, by contacting the prescriber, if lost or stolen, reducing the value of stolen prescriptions and allowing the prescriber to write a new one without fear of duplications.
